Councillors including the Mayor and the Chair of the Events Committee toured all of the premises in Ponteland and Darras Hall on Monday 30th May to judge the displays created by shops and businesses in the area.


The Town Council agreed to give prizes to the best windows in Main Street/Bell Villas, Merton Way and Broadway.


The winning window in Ponteland went to Taylors Pharmacy.  Both Iain Nicholson Solicitors and Henry Robert Hairdressing were highly commended.


In Merton Way the prize went to John Bardgett Funeral Directors.  Parklands Chemist and Tynedale Hospice at Home were highly commended.


At Broadway the prize went to Carousel gift and cards shop.  The judges praised the Number 9 Bistro and Triple Eight garage.


The Council also wish to thank pupils and teachers at Richard Coates Primary School who decorated the windows at Merton Hall on Main Street.


The Council would like to thank everyone who has decorated their windows which has helped everyone to get into the celebratory mood for the Platinum Jubilee.
