Poppies for Remembrance

Ponteland Town Council is delighted to report that the three Poppy displays have been installed.  They are located at Coates Green, the Sensory Garden (behind Sanderson Young) and in front of the Pele Tower.

This is the culmination of a lot of hard work by so many people.  We would like to thank all of those who knitted or crocheted Poppies for the displays and those responsible for the assembly and erection of the Poppies on site.  We much appreciate all that has been done.

Like so many other organisations, the Council was saddened that they had to take the difficult decision to cancel the Remembrance parade and service this year due to the ongoing Covid-19 crisis.   The displays were planned before March 2020 but they are even more important now during this very difficult time for everyone.
