Information from Newcastle Airport
As you are aware Newcastle International Airport is experiencing a second consecutive year of significantly reduced passenger numbers compared to 2019 levels and the outlook for the aviation industry remains uncertain.
The costs of operating the Airport continue to exceed income therefore we have taken the decision to make changes to our ‘gate’ car parking tariffs. As part of these changes, next Tuesday the Express Car Park charge will change to £4 for 10 minutes, an increase of £1. This price is comparable to other regional UK airports including Bristol, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Liverpool.
These price increases will allow us to continue to provide connectivity for the region during these challenging times and to further invest in the airport in order to attract high quality airlines. The income will also allow the business to make the investments necessary to progress with the goal of becoming a Net Zero Carbon emissions airport by 2035 and achieve the Government’s ambition of a ‘Green’ recovery.
