The Town Council is responsible for the many and varied floral displays in and around Ponteland and at all of the gateways into the town.
This work is undertaken by the Town Council’s team of contractors who also do some grass cutting in key areas such as Coates Green.
Ponteland is a former entrant in the prestigious Britain in Bloom national competition and received a Silver Gilt award in 2017 and a Gold award in 2018.
The Town Council has entered Northumbria in Bloom for many years and won Gold awards for the last 9 of those years. The Council decided to take a break from the competition in 2019.
The Town Council ensures there is colour in the area all during the year and plant in both winter and summer.
We receive many compliments from residents and visitors who are pleased to see such vibrant displays.
