Ponteland Town Council are seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified contractors to be included on the selected contractors to submit tenders for the redevelopment of Prestwick Cemetery.

The works are shown on the attached drawing. Briefly they include in the woodland area the construction of paths, access to a works area, construction of the same, entrances, grassing and tree planting. In the main area supply and erect new gates, modify the car park, construct a garden of remembrance, supply and install one columbaria, refurbish the shelter and resurface existing paths.
The expression of interest for inclusion on the selected contractors should be accompanied by at least the following details
• Brief description of the firm, registration if any and type of work undertaken
• If possible description of at least 2 similar projects preferably in the north east and references
• Annual turnover, safety record and amount of insurance cover.
The works will be carried out in accordance with the Town Council’s general requirement and detailed specification and description. The works will be priced on general descriptions rather than detailed quantities. Certain aspects of the work will require detailed design by the contractor and approval by the Employer. Sealed bids will be required as well as further detailed information on the firm.

Such expressions of interest should be received by the 7TH October and tenders should be issued to selected contactors by early November. It is anticipated that the invitation will be for 3 to 5 contractors.
Award will be made in 2017, probably by April 2017 and the first phase will probably take about 3 months or so. The tree planting will not be undertaken until later in the year.
