MINUTES OF THE PLANNING COMMITTEE MEETING

28th May 2019

Present:  Councillor Mrs S Johnson (in the Chair), Mrs K Woodrow, Mr A Hall and Mr S Ahmed.

 

Apologies for absence were received from Councillors: Mrs K Overbury and Councillor Mr T Edwards-Clay

 

  1. PLANNING APPLICATIONS

 

A list of planning applications received since the previous Committee meeting had been circulated

 

  • Application No: 19/01412/FUL, Location: 229 Darras Road, Darras Hall, Ponteland Ne20 9AJ. Proposal: Domestic detached dormer bungalow extension and conversion of detached house.

Objection: The Planning Committee objects to this proposal and supports the objections from the neighbours regarding privacy and The Committee’s objection is supported by PNP Policy 2 High Quality and Inclusive design b) respects the character of the site and its surroundings in terms of its location, layout, proportion, form, massing, density, height, size, scale, materials, and detailed design features, and also PNP Policy 4 Residential development in Darras Hall a) The proposed dwelling or extension should be respectful of the scale and massing and separation of adjacent dwellings and the street scene, particularly in relation to the frontage of the application site to the highway. The Committee would like to see this proposal refused.

 

  • Application No: 19/01474/FUL, Location: 132 Darras Road, Darras Hall, Ponteland NE20 9PG. Proposal: Conversion of bungalow into a double storey bungalow with a sloping roof.

Comment: The Planning Committee would like the neighbours comments noted regarding the clearing of the land. There seems to be no regard for the wildlife corridor in the area and surrounding. The design statement makes no mention of removal of the tree’s and hedges on this site and the objections from the neighbours would be alleviated should all of the well-established trees and hedges remain.

 

The Committee made no comments about the other 3 applications considered.

 

  1. DECISIONS: APPLICATIONS AND APPEALS; WITHDRAWN APPLICATIONS

 

2.1       DECISION:  19/00896/FUL, 28 Stonehaugh Way, Darras Hall, Ponteland, NE20 9LX. Proposed garage, bedroom and kitchen extension. Rebuild front dormer and new dormer windows to rear.

Permission granted under delegated powers on 16th May 2019. The Committee had made no comment about this application.

 

2.2       DECISION:  1900933/VARYCO, Land North West of Clickemin Farmhouse, Clickemin, Ponteland, NE20. Proposed variation of condition 2 in relation to planning application 16/04474//FUL – changes to proposed pyramid roof.

Permission granted under delegated powers on 16th May 2019. The Committee had made a comment about this application.

 

 

2.3       DECISION:  19/00979/FUL, Meadow Court, 1 Fox Covert Lane, Ponteland, NE20 9TA. Proposed single storey extension to the west and two storey extension to the east.

Permission granted under delegated powers on 14th May 2019. The Committee had made no comment about this application.

 

2.4       DECISION:  19/00998/FUL, 62 Errington Road, Darras Hall, Ponteland, NE20 9LA. Proposed loft conversion and extension to front elevation.

Permission granted under delegated powers on 20th May 2019. The Committee had made no comment about this application.

 

2.5       DECISION:  19/00961/FUL, 5 Linden Way, Ponteland, NE20 9DP. Proposed bedroom over garage extension, single storey rear extension, canopy over entrance and new entrance gates and walls (as amended)

Permission granted under delegated powers on 22nd May 2019. The Committee had made no comment about this application.

 

2.6       DECISION:  19/00601/VARYCO, 5 Mill View, Runnymede Road, Ponteland, NE20 9AB. Proposed Variation of Condition 2 (approved plans) pursuant to planning application 18/00769/VARYCO –  to allow the remodel of proposed plot 4 as submitted.

Permission granted under delegated powers on 23rd May 2019. The Committee had made no comment about this application.

 

2.7       WITHDRAWN:  18/03015/FUL, 9 Church Flatt, Eland Haugh, Ponteland, NE20 9XQ. Proposed ground floor extension to form boot room and first floor extension to form a bedroom with ensuite.

NCC had advised that the application had been withdrawn 14th May 2019. The Committee had made a comment about this application.
