MINUTES OF THE PLANNING COMMITTEE MEETING

15th May 2018

Present:  Councillor Mrs S Johnson (in the Chair), Mrs K Woodrow, Mrs C Caisley, Mr S Ahmed, Karen Overbury and Councillor Mr Thomas Edwards-Clay

 

  1. PLANNING APPLICATIONS

 

A list of planning applications received since the previous Committee meeting had been circulated

 

Application No: 18/01349/ADE, Location: 11 West Road, Ponteland, NE20 9SU

Proposal: Advertisement consent for an externally illuminated projecting sign.

 

Objection: The Planning Committee object to this proposal as it is contrary to the PNP Policy 7: Heritage Assets and Advertisements affecting heritage assets and their settings will be supported where their size, scale, proportions. Design colour, position, number, materials and illumination do not detract, either individually or cumulatively, from the significance of the heritage asset or its setting and point 4.30 advertisements and heritage assets – guidance:

  1. a) Suitably designed illuminated signage will be permitted where such signs advertise goods or services available to the public within evening hours.
  2. d) Panel fascia signs should not project more than 50mm from the building frontage.
  3. g) All signage and illuminations shall be static and shall not include any moving element.

 

Application No: 18/01493/FUL Location: 46 Woodside, Darras Hall, Ne20 9JA

Proposal: New 3 Storey detached house (basement and two upper floors)

 

The Committee asked for this application to be monitored until nearer the expiry date.

 

The Committee made no comments about the other 6 applications considered.

 

  1. DECISIONS: APPLICATIONS AND APPEALS; WITHDRAWN APPLICATIONS

 

2.1       DECISION:  18/00860/FUL, Corneyhaugh Kirkley, Ponteland, NE20 0BQ. Proposed garage and kitchen extension.

Permission withdrawn under delegated powers on 3rd May 2018. The Committee had made no comment about this application.

 

2.2       DECISION:  18/00916/FUL, Abbeyfields House, 103 Cheviot View, Ponteland, NE20 9BH. Proposed demolition of garage and replacement with new garage with pitched roof, replacement of conservatory with sun lounge extension and alterations to main roof.

Permission granted under delegated powers on 2nd May 2018. The Committee had made no comment about this application.

 

2.3       DECISION:  17/02074/FUL, 10 Rowan Drive, Ponteland, NE20 9QL. Proposed extension above garage to give further two bedroomed area and living space (house and garage – 77.5m)

Permission withdraw under delegated powers on 4th May 2018. The Committee had made no comment about this application.

 

2.4       DECISION:  18/01196/FUL, Birney Wood, Stamfordham Road, NE15 9RB. Proposed Proposal to demolish existing extension and flat roof extension to rear; erection of a series of extension – front gable extension; flat roof double height area; two storey extension to side of property; erection of rear extension; elevation changes and associated landscape and hardscape upgrades; existing garage to be demolished with larger garage proposed.

Permission granted under delegated powers on 8th May 2018. The Committee had made no comment about this application.

 

2.5       DECISION:  18/00907/FUL, 149 Darras Road, Ponteland, NE20 9PQ. Proposed construction of single storey extension to front of existing dwelling to form front porch

Permission granted under delegated powers on 9th May 2018. The Committee had made no comment about this application.

 

2.6       DECISION:  18/00942/VARYCO, Field 7363 Medburn Ponteland. Proposed removal of condition 5 (no trade or business to operate) on approved planning application CM/20080530.

Permission granted under delegated powers on 10th May 2018. The Committee had made no comment about this application.

 

  1. ANY OTHER BUSINESS

 

3.1       18/00638/FUL, Land North of Burnlea, The Avenue, Medburn NE20 0JD. Resubmission of two dwellings.

The Town Council had been invited to speak at the Local Area Planning Committee Meeting on 14th May 2018 regarding the above application.

The Town Council had made an objection about the proposal and Councillor Katrina Woodrow agreed to speak at the meeting.

 

3.2       18/00317/FUL, Plot 4 Harrison Hall, The Avenue, Medburn NE20 0JD.

            Construction of a detached two-storey dwelling and detached double garage.

The Town Council had been invited to speak at the Local Area Planning Committee Meeting on 14th May 2018 regarding the above application.

The Town Council had made an objection about the proposal and Councillor Katrina Woodrow agreed to speak at the meeting.
