11th December 2018

  1. PLANNING APPLICATIONS

 

A list of planning applications received since the previous Committee meeting had been circulated

 

1.1       Application No: 18/04214/FUL, Location 1 Brooklands, Darras Hall, Ponteland, NE20 9LZ, Proposal: Two storey extension to West, first floor alterations, new entrance gates and boundary treatment.

Comment: The Planning Committee welcome the retention of the hedging on the boundary and would prefer not to see the fence erected to retain the semi-rural aspect of the street scene that is prevalent on Darras Hall

 

1.2         Application No: 18/04178/FELLTPO, Location 68 Western Way, Darras Hall, Ponteland NE20 9AP, Proposal: Tree preservation order application for T1 Oak Fell, T2 Oak Fell, T3 Ash Fell, T4 Ash Fell, T5 Oak Fell, T6 Ash Fell, T7 Sycamore Fell, T8 Beech Fell, T9 Ash Fell, T10 Ash Fell, T11 Sycamore Fell, T12 Ash Fell, T13 Ash Fell, T14 Ash Fell, T15 Scott’s Pine Fell, T16 Ash Fell, T17 Scott’s Pine Fell, T18 Oak remove 3 lower limbs, T19 Oak Fell, T20 Scott’s Pine Fell, T21 Douglas Fir Fell, T22 Scott’s Pine Fell, T23 Oak Fell, T24 Silver Birch Fell, T25 Ash Fell, T26 Ash Fell, T27 Oak Fell, T28 Oak remove 1 lower branch, T29 Ash Fell, T30 Ash Fell, T31 Ash Fell, T32 Ash Fell, T33 Ash Fell, T34 Oak Fell, T35 Ash Fell, T36 Ash Fell.

Comment: The Planning Committee refer this application to the Tree Preservation Officer.

 

1.3       Application No: 18/04288/ADE, Dobbies Garden Centre, Ponteland, NE20 9BT. Proposal: Retrospective three vinyl banners on timber frames on LHS of approach road to advertise events.

Objection: the planning committee wish to object as they feel this application is contrary to the PNP policy 7: heritage assets and advertisements. Dobbies Garden Centre and car park are located within the greenbelt, and gradual sprawl is extending onto the green space creating the appearance, driving south on the a696, of an out of town retail centre in a rural environment rather than a rural garden centre. They are of the opinion that this amount of advertising is a safety hazard to drivers at a black spot in Ponteland as this roundabout is frequently the cause of accidents. The planning committee would like to see this application refused.

 

1.4       Application No: 18/03589/FUL, Westcotes, Milbourne, Newcastle NE20 0DG. Proposed erection of free range egg production unit.

Objection: The Planning Committee object to this application and would like to see it differed until all the relevant investigations have been carried out and the relevant reports submitted in relation to the Ecology and Archaeology. In particular the archaeological background of the site.

 

The Committee made no comments about the other 17 applications considered.

2.1       DECISION:  18/03219/FUL, 160 Edge Hill, Darras Hall, Ponteland, NE20 9JN. Proposed demolition of existing bungalow and construction of a 2 storey 5 bedroom dwelling as supplemented by additional information and amended landscaping plan received 7/11/18

Permission granted under delegated powers on 30th Nov 2018. The Committee had made no comment about this application.

 

2.2       DECISION:  18/03492/FUL, 13 Ridgely Drive, Ponteland, NE20 9BJ. Proposed construction of first floor rear extension, single storey rear and side extension and extended raised decking area to rear.

Permission granted under delegated powers on 28th Nov 2018. The Committee had made no comment about this application.

 

2.3       DECISION:  18/3505/VARYCO, 217 Western Way, Ponteland, NE20 9ND. Proposed variation of condition 2 (approved plans) pursuant to planning permission 17/03035/FUL to amend roofline from a hip roof to a gable end roof.

Permission granted under delegated powers on 28th Nov 2018. The Committee had made no comment about this application.

 

 

2.4       DECISION:  18/03468/FUL, 94 Middle Drive, Ponteland, NE20 9DN. Proposed raised roof height to create first floor.

Permission granted under delegated powers on 27th Nov 2018. The Committee had made no comment about this application.

 

2.5       DECISION:  18/01822/FUL, Middle Coldcoats Farm, Milbourne, Ponteland, NE20 0DG. Proposed conversion of barn to provide education and welfare facilities for day farm visits, demolition of adjoining pole barn. Formation of replacement highway access to A696 and closure of existing highway access.

Permission granted under delegated powers on 27th Nov 2018. The Committee had made an objection about this application.

 

2.6       DECISION:  18/03614/FUL, 226 Middle Drive, Ponteland, NE20 9LU. Proposed rebuilding of porch and new dormer window to first floor bedroom.

Permission granted under delegated powers on 6th Dec 2018. The Committee had made no comment about this application.

 

2.7       DECISION:  18/03574/FUL, Land North of Burnlea, The Avenue, Ponteland, NE20 0JD. Proposed variation of Condition 2 (approved plans) and 3 (landscaping) pursuant to planning permission 18/00638/FUL to permit removal of trees T10 and T11.

Permission granted under delegated powers on 6th Dec 2018. The Committee had made no comment about this application.

 

2.8       DECISION:  18/03602/FUL, 10 Whinfell Road, Darras Hall, Ponteland, NE20 9EP. Proposed new first floor and two storey extension to rear.

Permission granted under delegated powers on 6th Dec 2018. The Committee had made no comment about this application.

 

2.9       DECISION:  18/033636/FUL, 7 Deyncourt, Darras Hall, Ponteland, NE20 9RP. Proposed single storey double garage to side – (amended to planning application 18/00521/FUL to reduce garage by 1 metre)
