MINUTES OF THE PLANNING COMMITTEE MEETING 19 MAY 2015

Present: Councillor Mrs S Johnson (in the Chair), Councillors Mrs L Noble and A Varley

Apologies for absence were received from Councillors Mrs E Thompson and Mrs C Greenwell

1. ELECTION OF CHAIRMAN AND DEPUTY CHAIRMAN

It was agreed that the officers of the Committee would be:

2. PLANNING APPLICATIONS

A list of planning applications received since the previous Committee meeting had been circulated

2.1 15/01212/FUL: 9 Broadway, Darras Hall, Ponteland NE20 9PW – Change of use from A1 to A1/A3 Tea Parlour. Erection of small hanging sign. Proposed small outside seating area and improvements to existing disabled ramp.

COMMENT: The location of the outside seating should not be such that it creates a hazard or obstruction for pedestrians.

An email had been received from David Butler questioning whether the outside seating area would be a pedestrian hazard.

The Committee made no comments about the other 4 applications considered.

Other Application Correspondence

15/01191/FUL: C A R E Community, North Road, Ponteland NE20 0BW – Erection of nine residential dwellings (Use Class C3) and associated landscaping, access and engineering works.

A copy email had been received from Ponteland Civic Society to NCC stating that aspects of the proposal gave rise to some concern: no landscape survey undertaken and landscaping largely cleared; (taking Self Unlimited site into account) the amount of affordable housing has been further reduced; parking provision is inappropriate.

3.2 DECISION 15/00811/FUL: 14 Willow Way, Darras Hall, Ponteland NE20 9RJ – Construction of a two storey rear extension
Permission granted under delegated powers on 1 May 2015.
The Committee had made no comment about this application.

3.3 DECISION 15/00686/FUL: Myvern 1 Prestwick Road Ends, Ponteland NE20 9BX – Demolition of garage and erection of single storey extension to front, two storey side extension & single storey extension to rear
Permission granted under delegated powers on 5 May 2015.
The Committee had made no comment about this application.

3.4 DECISION 15/00778/FUL: 7 Fellside Darras Hall Ponteland NE20 9JW – Amendment to previously approved application – 14/01467/FUL – Construction of block/render single storey extension (with pitched roof) to rear of property and raising of roof to provide first floor living accommodation incorporating dormer roof and rooflights

3.5 DECISION 15/00678/FUL: Brookside, Callerton Lane, Ponteland NE20 9EG – Demolition of existing porch & small canopy to the north elevation & erection of a new timber clad porch with timber cladding to garage door surround. Removal of timber cladding to North & East Elevation & replaced with cream render. Removal of a small lean-to on the first floor & replaced with a new first floor room with roof to match existing. New aluminium framed windows throughout. Black slate cladding to the West & South elevations. Removal of two ground floor windows on west elevation & replaced with full height aluminium framed windows. Additional window to first floor

NE20 9PW – Change of use from former cafe/deli to pizza cafe providing pizza, salad, sandwiches and cakes with associated extraction/odour control system to rear.
Permission granted under delegated powers on 13 May 2015.
