Local Plan Core Strategy – Pre-Submission draft

“Consultation on the Northumberland Local Plan Core Strategy – Pre-Submission draft began on 14 October and will run until 25 November.

It is important that residents make every effort to view the document on the County Council’s website, corestrategy.northumberland.gov.uk  as there are a number of issues included that will impact on the future of Ponteland.

Hard copies of the main consultation documents can be found in County Council planning receptions, Information Centres and libraries and they are also available to purchase from the County Council.  CDs containing the Core Strategy Pre-Submission consultation document are available from the County Council free of charge on request.

The Town Council have one copy of the documents and the public can view them during our office hours of 9.30a.m.  – 12.30p.m.  – Monday to Friday.

Please note this is the final opportunity for comments on the Core Strategy before it is submitted for independent examination.  The purpose of this consultation is to obtain views on the ‘soundness’ of the plan.  Comments must be made by midnight on Wednesday 25 November 2015.

Details of informal drop in sessions and how to respond are listed on the attached document.  The drop in session for Ponteland is on Saturday 7 November at Ponteland Memorial Hall from 10.00 until 15.00.  There will also be a separate area in the hall where the project team responsible for the Ponteland schools and leisure project will be displaying the draft plans for the schools.  Visitors to the event will have the opportunity to ask questions of the project team in relation to the schools proposal and you will be able to register your views on the day in writing.  If you are unable to attend this event you will be able to find information on the proposals and how to submit your views on the Council’s Northumberland Education website at www.education-northumberland.com
